Casement Window Repair & Replacement of Cranks in Maplewood

This is a replacement of over forty Marvin casement windows for our client in Maplewood New Jersey. His Casement Windows had extensive sash rot as well as very noticeable foggy window panes. The windows wood rot had extended to all parts of the window’s sash. The rot was so bad that the window’s arms and operators were not properly attached to the wood. Wood rot is often preventable if proper care and maintenance is performed. Seasonal maintenance such as re-caulking deteriorated urethane and preventing humidity buildup by address foggy window can offset window sash rot.

Our estimator’s assessment determined that a window replacement would be a more cost effective solution than committing to a window sash restoration & glass replacement. A full unit replacement includes us replacing the whole window, the window’s glass, and often the windows parts (cranks, arms, operators and balances.) (See our Common Window Terminology page for definition reference.)  We recommend sash restoration and glass replacement  when there are less than three windows or when the window’s sash has minimal rot.

This is one of the windows we took out. The bottom sash literally fell off while we were holding the window.
