We removed and replaced a large picture window glass in Edgewater, NJ

Outside view of us replacing the large picture window. We replaced the window’s panes with bronze tinted, Low-E glass.

Our client’s  gym window in Edgewater, NJ had cracked.  The window pictured above is an insulated glass window with Low-E Glass. We had to use a boom lift to access the outside of the double pane picture window. As the the image on the left depicts, we had to first remove the moldings off of the window, and cut out the supporting urethane.

We took off the exterior moldings and were able to put the new glass in. This glass has to be safety tempered glass because of the window’s height.  Unlike annealed plate glass, tempered glass shatters into small dull pieces. The insulated glass unit is roughly 200lbs. This part of the job cannot be done with out team work.  Safety is one dedicated Glass’s greatest concerns. In this scenario, each technician must trust one and another. The completion of this job is a cumulation of well planned coordination.
